Welcome to FedCompass. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the FedCompass mobile application ("App") or visiting the FedCompass website ("Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App or Site.

1. Overview

FedCompass is a retirement planning calculator designed for U.S. federal employees under the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS). The App provides estimates of retirement income based on user-provided data and publicly available FERS formulas.

2. Not Financial Advice

FedCompass does not provide financial, legal, tax, or retirement advice. All calculations, projections, and estimates generated by the App are for informational and planning purposes only. You should not rely solely on FedCompass to make retirement or financial decisions.

Please consult with a certified financial planner, your agency HR office, or other qualified professional before making any retirement decisions. Actual retirement benefits are determined by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and may differ from the estimates provided by FedCompass.

3. No Government Affiliation

FedCompass is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), the Social Security Administration (SSA), or any U.S. government agency.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use FedCompass. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

FedCompass grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial retirement planning purposes, subject to these Terms.

FedCompass is available as a one-time purchase of $2.99 through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. All payments are processed by the respective app store platform. By completing a purchase, you agree to the payment terms of the applicable app store.

Refund requests are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store in accordance with their respective refund policies. FedCompass does not process payments or refunds directly.

7. Data and Privacy

Your data stays on your device. FedCompass does not upload, store, or share your personal financial information with any server or third party. For more details, please review our Privacy Policy.

8. Accuracy of Information

FedCompass uses publicly available FERS formulas, COLA rates, and other federal retirement data to generate estimates. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that the information or calculations are complete, current, or error-free.

Federal retirement rules, tax laws, and benefit formulas may change. FedCompass may not immediately reflect such changes. Always verify important figures with your agency HR office or OPM.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FedCompass and its creators, developers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of income, data, or financial loss, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.

FedCompass is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. You use the App at your own risk.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FedCompass and its creators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the App.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which FedCompass operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
